Simon is a father of two, living in South Buckinghamshire for the last 24 years. Simon worked for 12 years at the BBC, latterly for a local authority and in more recent times the NHS. In his ‘spare’ time Simon supports a number of charitable organisations, including being a member of the National Trust Council and Ridgeway National Trail and National Trails UK Board.

Simon has been very much involved in supporting a range of national and more local charities and other organisations providing opportunities for all in order that as many people as possible are supported to lead fulfilling lives through conservation, heritage, arts and cultural activities. 

Simon is particularly keen to support the development of such organisations as an excellent way to not only bring communities together and delivering those beneficial human impacts but also to build on the work of local, regional and national groups through collaboration and partnership.
