[Event] Book your place at IEEP UK’s Annual Conference 2025

On 22 January 2025 (09.00 – 12.00 GMT) IEEP UK will be hosting its annual conference online, which will focus on learning from the rest of Europe to deliver UK environmental ambition.

Following the elections in the EU and the UK, the changed political dynamic has created a new potential for closer cooperation, including on environmental policy.

In this conference IEEP UK will draw on its wealth of knowledge and networks throughout Europe to see what can be learnt from different approaches, not least in the delivery of DEFRA’s five priorities: circular economy, nature, flooding, rivers and seas, and food security.

We will hear from a range of speakers from across the EU to draw on good practice that the UK might benefit from in its delivery of these priority areas, as well as explore how the UK and EU can better cooperate on European environmental policy and governance.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Minister Mary Creagh, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs – keynote speaker
  • Leena Ylä-Mononen, Executive Director of the European Environment Agency – keynote speaker
  • Janez Potočnik, Co-Chair of the International Resource Panel and former European Commissioner for the environment
  • Stephanie Wunder, head of the Sustainable Nutrition team at Agora Agriculture
  • Andreas Baumüller, programme director at the WWF European Policy Office
  • Dr Clemens Neuhold, chair of the ICPDR’s Flood Protection Expert Group
  • Ben Reynolds, Executive Director of IEEP UK
  • Malini Mehra, Chair of IEEP UK – chair
