With the UK Government announcing it will be developing a new National Food Strategy for England in 2025, this webinar will be turning its attention to what lessons can be drawn from previous attempts across the UK and the rest of Europe.
The webinar will hear from the authors of a new study due to be published imminently that has examined 11 different European countries’ recent food policies, looking at the value of taking an integrated and food systems approach. We will also hear from some of the case study countries, including France, with a particular focus on how their approach to sustainable food procurement and alternatives to food donations have been dealt with as part of a more holistic national food policy.
We are pleased to announce that Sheila Dillon, host of the BBC Food Programme will be chairing the webinar. The Food Programme made the new Food Strategy the topic of a recent episode – Broken Policies – featuring IEEP UK’s Executive Director, Ben Reynolds, who will be joining the panel for this webinar.
- Current speakers and panellists include:
- Sheila Dillon, The Food Programme BBC (Chair)
- Stephanie Wunder, Agora Agriculture
- Charlie Brocard, IDDRI
- Ben Reynolds, IEEP UK
- And more to be announced
