IEEP co-authors book chapter on fiscal instruments for financing biodiversity

Authors: Andrea Illes, Marianne Kettunen, Patrick ten Brink

IEEP’s Andrea IllesMarianne Kettunen and Patrick ten Brink together with their co-authors explore the opportunities for biodiversity financing provided by environmental fiscal instruments in the EU. They assess the potential of environmental taxes and charges, environmental tax relief and ecological fiscal transfers to complement the EU’s biodiversity financing policy mix, and present a set of good practice examples from a number of EU Member States.

The review is published in the new book on “The Green Market Transition”. The book is a part of the Critical Issues in Environmental Taxation series, published by Edward Elgar Publishing. The book brings together environmental tax and climate law experts who examine carbon taxes and other support schemes, together with smart instrument mixes in order to assess how these instruments can help to deliver fiscal reform and green market transition.

The book, in paper copy and online, is available for order on Edward Elgar Publishing’s website.
