IEEP UK’s work tracking divergence in environmental policy between the UK and EU has been mentioned by expert analyst, Chris Grey, in a recent blog post.
Divergence without a solid evidence basis can have serious ramifications in environmental policy, adding more difficulty to achieve net zero objectives.
Transparency from policymakers when legislating divergence in the UK, as well as in devolved authorities, is a desirable approach to ensure decisions are taken to protect the UK’s environmental interests and that they are delivered at pace.
