This review examines practices in place at the Community level and in Member States that support the establishment of ecological networks and enhancement of ecological coherence and connectivity within ecosystems/landscapes. The review forms a part of a broader study (ENV.B.2/ETU/2006/0042R) aiming to provide the European Commission with scientific advice on how to guide the Member States in implementing connectivity and coherence related provisions of the Habitats and Birds directives.
