Ben Reynolds

IEEP UK Executive Director

Ben is the Executive Director of IEEP UK, responsible for developing IEEP’s strategic direction and programme of activities in the UK. Ben joined IEEP UK in October 2023. He is an experienced leader, senior manager and policy campaigner, with over 20 years experience in the food, farming and environmental sectors. Before IEEP he worked at Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming for almost 20 years, including over 13 years in senior management, as Acting and Deputy Chief Executive, and Network Director. Whilst at Sustain Ben led the organisation’s strategic development, and managed multiple award-winning campaigns and networks. This included working with Jamie Oliver’s team to get the government to adopt a sugary drinks tax, and setting up the award winning Children’s Health Fund which piloted the levy with restaurants. Ben helped to set up the Sustainable Food Places, Sugar Smart and Food Power networks, has co-authored many reports, including the Case for Local Food with the RSPB, edited the ethical London food magazine The Jellied Eel, shortlisted for a Guild of Food Writers award, and advised internationally on food policy and urban agriculture. Ben is also a trustee (and ex-chair) of the charity School Food Matters, has been a member of the Mayor of London’s Food Board, and used to work at Thames Estuary Partnership and helped run a Farmers’ Market.
