IEEP UK | Divergence in environmental policy: Single Use Plastics

AUTHOR: Michael Nicholson

The EU’s 2019 Plastics Directive imposed market restrictions on several ubiquitous disposable plastics items alongside collection targets, labelling requirements and extended producer responsibility. In comparison, the UK’s four nations are moving at different speeds to this and regulatory efforts on plastics are stretching the provisions of the UK’s internal market.

In response to these developments, IEEP UK has prepared a presentation offering key insights and analysis on the divergence surrounding single use plastics, breaking down what this means for the EU, the UK and its constituent nations.
